Weekend with my parents

The weekend with my parents was lovely, It's nice to have them all to myself sometimes - not something that happens often with 2 sisters and especially since I got married and moved overseas. I was generally spoiled, ate loads of yummy food and wasn't allowed to lift a finger.

Me and mum did a little baby shopping on Friday followed by dinner with dad, little sis and her new bloke. New bloke seems nice, little sis seems "fond" (to quote my mum) but is still planning to go to Ecuador in August.

On Saturday we visited a "Dad's army" museum which has recently opened in the town nearby, this series made in the '60's about the home guard during the second world war was filmed there. The museum also includes information about the real home guard in the town. My grandfather was a major in the home guard and dad had lent some stuff to the museum.

Sunday my cousin, his wife and two kids came over and we had traditional roast beef and Yorkshire puddings. I don't eat this very often any more but it was lovely. My dad makes the best Yorkshire puddings and I wrote down how he does it (again) since my attempts so far have not worked. I'm pretty sure that mum and dad eat a roast dinner every Sunday still, they certainly did when we were kids and my dad loves it.

Otherwise the pregnancy is progressing, S has resorted to sleeping in the spare room as he really needs to sleep properly to allow him to study. I don't really mind as I'm up at least twice during the night and can spread out across the bed. Stumpy has been very active the last few days and keeps getting hiccups, which is really funny. The heartburn is not getting any better but I guess it'll be worth it in the end.

Pregnancy WTF!

Why is it that even immediately after I have emptied my bladder there is apparently enough left in it to leak if I cough? Which I'm doing a lot of recently with the acid reflux and indigestion. Even more fun is leaning over the toilet puking while leaking urine as I was doing at about 3am this morning. Thank goodness for tiled bathroom floors!

I bought this night light from ikea for the nursery and it's seriously cute,
is it wrong to be tempted to buy the green and blue ones as well...

some pictures

Amazingly clear water
The view into the cloud
Another view
All taken at the coast just a little north of Copenhagen.

...and a couple of weeks late - the bump at 29 weeks
Pictures of the nursery to follow, now that it's finished.

I went to the doctors this morning to get a note saying I can fly this weekend, this is because Ea.sy.jet are stricter than most about flying. Presumably because they are a cheap airline and have very low insurance cover. Anyway, the doctor didn't bother to examine me at all, just checked my dates, wrote the note and charged me for it. Kind of amusing really when the airline have only this to assure them that I'm not about to deliver a baby on their plane.

I'm really looking forward to spending some quality time with my parents (I'm going alone as S. is still studying) and I think my mum would love to take me shopping for some baby stuff. I'll be leaving Thursday night and coming back Monday night so it's a good long weekend. Also apparently my big sister might drive down to see me which would be cool.

Walking like a penguin

Apparently this was what I was doing on the way home last night (thanks S.) I'm blaming the fact that my hips were hurting and I needed the loo. Him making me laugh on the way home did not help with the bladder "situation" either.

My younger sister was visiting at the weekend so we did a little sightseeing and shopping (pictures to follow when I get them off my camera) and this kept me away from blogging. Typically when I decided to take Monday off "sick" to have an extra day with her, we ran into an ex-colleague at the art gallery we visited (oops).

Our Valentine's day was quiet with the traditional event of me giving S a card and him looking guilty for not buying one. We went out for dinner last night and I got flowers though.

Pregnancy wise not much to report (31 weeks!) apart from continued lack of sleep due to heartburn and stumpy having an attack of hiccups last night which made me giggle for ages.

Time flies

Wow it's been over a week since I last posted. Most of the reason for this is that I was in London from Saturday until Wednesday and didn't have a lot of internet access.

Annoyingly bloglines vanished a bunch of your posts so I'm sure I missed some news and haven't commented much.

My trip was good, I stayed with a good friend over the weekend and got to see her 3 month old who is (of course) extremely cute. I also had the chance to meet up with friends both Monday and Tuesday night for dinner. The meeting was pretty good too and I had the chance to buy some Marks and Spencer's sausages to smuggle back for S.

On the pregnancy front I'm 30 weeks (wow!) and the baby seems to think he wants to be under my ribs which is very uncomfortable and makes breathing more difficult. Otherwise everything seems fine.
