Confirmed

Baby_T is definitely allergic to both egg whites (very allergic) and egg yolks. Does anyone have any tips for dealing with this kind of allergy?

Also recipies for eggless cakes etc.

He will still have his MMR vaccination but since it is made in eggs he will have it at hospital so if there is a reaction he can be treated immediately.

Guaranteed to jinx things

T slept through the last 2 nights! From 6.30pm-7am on Saturday night and 7pm-5.50am last night. A little later in the morning than today would be good but I have to get up at 6.30 for work anyway and we had some lovely cuddles this morning before getting up.

I can't decide if he his teething again or still has a cold that he passed on to me but he seems to be very hot, because of this he's had calpol before bed the last couple of nights so I hope that's not the reason he slept through.

Oh and I finally managed to capture this on camera (sorry that it's sideways)...

Unfortunately and and update

I spotted this at Niobe's place and thought it would be fun, it's another one of those google things. I googled "Unfortunately, Caro" and this is what turned up:

Unfortunately, Caro's interview appears to have been lost
Unfortunately, Caro's one-hundred-page effort ...
Unfortunately, Caro and screenwriter Michael Seitzman (who wrote the drippy teen tearjerker Here on Earth) are never able to elevate North Country beyond ...
Unfortunately, Caro became something of a folk hero in Mexico
unfortunately Caro is far away and with other musers right now so that might be a bit awkward too
Unfortunately Caro does not cover the country's pre-historic sites of interest
Unfortunately, CARO is not an official standard-setting body
Unfortunately, Caro doesn't fare as well
Unfortunately, Caro had reckoned without two things

Also it seems like I'm not the only one trying to sort out sleeping/milk drinking issues at the moment Serenity, Cibele, Elizabeth and Ms Planner have all blogged about similar stuff recently so I'll be avidly reading how they get on.
As for baby T he is coping without the middle of the night feed but still wakes (at least) once during the night. Last night I was able to settle him back to sleep without him having screaming ab-dabs and grabbing for my boobs so that's definitely progress. It means I can share the burdon with S who is very tired after a week of being in charge at night (insert slightly snarky comment about me getting up at least once a night for the last 13 months). Next step will involve T not having to come into the big bed and less screaming (I hope).

Finally thanks to Mel for the mention in the lost and found, I will get around to blogging about the new job soon...

Phew!

So I'm finally up to date on all the blogs I read - there has been a lot of scanning of posts but you may have noticed some comments as well. Can I just say you all seem to write a lot.

Any way the reason (excuse?) for that lack of posting and reading was a trip to Italy where we stayed with the in-laws in their caravan. We slept in a separate tent but you can get the idea here:
The caravan
The attached tent
While the break was ok, it wasn't exactly what you would call relaxing, with my MIL following T around with a tissue to clean him the second he got any food anywhere except in his mouth lest he make a mess and expressing horror at him getting covered in dust when we let him crawl around outside (in the dirt - shock, horror!). The late bright evenings making it hard to get him to settle to sleep at his usual time (we keep his bedroom pretty dark) and the lack of safe space for him to run around in.

The weather was lovely, but at 30-odd most days, to hot for both me and T. Me and S agreed that we'd love to go back to the area (by Lago Maggiore) another time and explore ourselves.
All in all though it was lovely to get home again and relax.

Well I say relax, what I actually mean is start my new job - the other reason why I've been slacking in blogging.

Bittersweet

It’s been how long since I last blogged, a month, how did that happen?

Several thing have caused this feeling today:
Baby T has settled in to nursery really well, which is of course good but when I dropped him off he reached for one of the teachers there the way he normally reaches for me or S. It’s good that he obviously likes the people who look after him all day but it made me a little sad inside.

Secondly, we have decided that it really is about time he stopped the middle of the night feeds, I do kind of enjoy this quiet time together but he really doesn’t need it and it would be nice if we all could sleep through the night. We started this on Thursday night because he had been up between 4.30 and 6.30 on Wednesday and comfort fed most of that time. So I was knackered and S agreed to take over Thursday night, because there were no real plan I fed him at midnight and then S took over. On Friday evening we decided that perhaps this was the first step on the way to stopping feeds during the night and since feeds means my boobs, S would take charge for the next two nights with a promised lie-in both Saturday and Sunday. It went pretty well with T falling back to sleep pretty quickly although in bed with S (a fight for another day) so we decided that I would try last night to give S a break. Bad idea! After an hour with T nearly falling asleep then screaming again S took over and T was sleep within 10 minutes. So guess that S now has the magic power and will need to be in charge for the next few nights.

T has started really walking, he takes at most 20 steps but it's happened - my baby has become a toddler.

It’s cd1 today, I’ve just started my new job so we’re not exactly trying (no ovulation monitors, temping or timed sex) but we’re not preventing either…
